Pre-engineered metal buildings and basements

Yes, pre-engineered buildings can have basements. We just recently took on a project in the Fall of 2013. It was is Design/Build project with a tight budget. We used the cost efficiencies of a pre-engineered building and had a plan developed that allowed the natural use of the properties geography for an exposed basement on the south side of the building. We used 12” concrete floor planks to handle the long span which also allowed for the basement to be column-free for future use.
